His research looks at transitions to higher education and employment, particularly as they affect the socio-economic mobility of people from marginalized communities. He is also the Executive Director of Samaanta Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that provides comprehensive higher education fellowships to public school graduates from disadvantaged backgrounds.
