Report on the U.S. Higher Education Guidance Counselor Training Session held in Chitwan

Overview

The U.S. Higher Education Guidance Counselor Training Session scheduled for Chitwan took place on November 30 and December 1, 2024 at Vivanta Chitwan. The session started from 09:30am to 04:30pm and breakfast, lunch and hi-tea were provided to the participants by the organizer. The trainers from SEBS were physically present and the representative from USEF, Priyani Shah was virtually present at the session.

Participants

There were 35 participants (32 male, 3 female) on the first day of the session i.e. November 30, 2024, and 29 participants (27 male, 2 female) on 2nd day of the session i.e. December 1, 2024. After reaching out to high schools in Chitwan, Tanahun, and Gorkha through emails, phone calls, messages, and most importantly through local government bodies, we got positive responses from many public schools. We noticed participants from the public schools of Tanahun. Overall, there were registrations from 24 different schools (32 participants) and participation from 32 different schools (35 participants). Through a community on WhatsApp, the participants and facilitators will maintain contact with each other.
